Close by in Nice is the Famous AOC Bellet, one of the oldest if not the oldest wine region in France. This wine region has a high reputation since it had Louis xv in Versailles and President Jefferson in the Whitehouse as its customers. The vineyards included are ; Château de Bellet, Château de Crémat, Clos Saint-Vincent, Collet de Bovis, Via Julia-Augusta, Domaine de la Source, Domaine de Toasc, Domaine de Vinceline, Domaine Saint Jean, Clos Nicea. Most vinyards are located around 3 routes; Chemin de Saquier, Route de Bellet, and Chemin de Crémat.
Chemin de Saquier is going up from Lingostière as a narrow route with many a sharp bends with spectacular views towards the Baou of St-Jeannet. Follow the valley of the Var towards the coast, here you’ll find: Domaine de la Source, their white, in particular, is recommended, Domaine de Vinceline an organically certified AOC white and red , Château de Bellet is regarded by many as producing the finest wines of the appellation, currently they are renovating and recently got Bio certification . Route de Bellet, Here you will find Via Julia Augusta competing with Château de Bellet for the most picturesque property, and Clos St Vincent which was served at the Royal Wedding in Monaco. Chemin de Crémat, brings you to Château de Crémat is by far the most commercial of the Bellet vineyards. Domaine St Jean vineyard started from scratch by a husband and wife in 2006.
